NEW MUSIC REVIEW: “WE TRiED”

WE TRiED is a new pop-punk band with a debut video celebrating one of the best holidays of the year, National Sandwich Day! Inspired by pop-punk legends blink-182 and Sum 41, the trio is led by filmmaker, actor and comedian Paris Dylan, who is a vocalist and guitarist in the band, composer Jesse Billson, who plays bass and produces, as well as comedian Brad Gage, who plays drums.

Their debut single “Come Around” is heavily influenced by early 2000s sound as well as their video, which very much reminds me of a classic Sum 41 video. blink-182 is another band that WE TRiED is heavily influenced by, frontman Paris Dylan said in a press release, “Pop-punk resonated with me when I was growing up, partly because of the catchy sound but also because of the lyrics; they were more direct and conversational than other genres”. I absolutely love this band and their music, because I feel it’s exactly what we need right now. The feel good, fast-tempo rhythm and guitars mixed with lyrics that make you think, I feel is such an important characteristic to a good punk band. I can’t wait to hear more from these guys!

WE TRiED’s debut single will be released officially on Friday, November 3rd and their debut album “Self-Titled” will be released on November 18th, 2017 and you can buy it on iTunes and Google Play and stream it on Spotify, plus it will be available on a whole bunch more music services!
